Meet the Therapist

LaNell Gibson, LMFT

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who decided to go into private practice to better serve my community. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Criminal Justice in 2012. I decided to pursue my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013, shortly after relocating to Las Vegas from California and completed my Master’s from the University of Phoenix in 2016. I pride myself on being empathetic and ethical with clients to assist everyone in overcoming life’s obstacles in a safe place. I have over 5 years of experience working with families and individuals to manage crisis situations, depression, anxiety, trauma symptoms and attachment-based issues in the Las Vegas and Pahrump Communities.

My professional passion is to help people address their fears and struggles through empathetic encounters by having unconditional positive regard for one’s personal experience.  I use a client-centered and psychodynamic approach while integrating other therapies, such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and more tailored to meet each client’s needs.

We will work together through a therapeutic relationship to help you navigate this chapter of your life and continuing moving forward. I am ready to support you in your life’s journey. Call me for a free 15-minute consultation.

Secondary Supervision for MFT & CPC Interns in Nevada

Clinical supervision is more than signing hours. It is a professional relationship designed to help you grow into a competent, ethical, and grounded therapist.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified Public Manager (CPM), and Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP), I provide secondary supervision for MFT and CPC interns throughout Nevada through secure virtual sessions.

My supervision style is genuine, direct, and accountable. I believe interns grow best in an environment that is supportive while also challenging them to think critically, reflect honestly, and strengthen their clinical judgment.

My Approach to Supervision

I provide supervision that is collaborative, reflective, and clinically grounded. I will support you while also holding you accountable to ethical practice, professional standards, and intentional clinical work.

Supervision is not about perfection. It is about developing awareness, confidence, and consistency in your role as a therapist.

Together, we will focus on:

  • Understanding the “why” behind your clinical decisions

  • Strengthening therapeutic presence and professional identity

  • Building confidence in case conceptualization and treatment planning

  • Developing ethical and legally sound clinical practices

  • Improving documentation and clinical organization

  • Increasing self-awareness through reflection and feedback

I value honesty, professionalism, openness to feedback, and a willingness to grow.

I provide guidance regarding Nevada licensure requirements, supervision expectations, and professional development pathways for MFT and CPC interns.
